Year 9 Students Complete DofE Expeditions

A group of 47 Year 9 students at Studley High School have successfully completed both their Duke of Edinburgh practice and qualifying expeditions.

Students first took part in their practice expedition, travelling through Pershore, Sedgeberrow and Bretforton. Over two days, they showed excellent resilience, walking long distances and camping overnight despite on-and-off rain. They worked well in teams, navigated their routes and supported one another throughout.

At camp, students cooked their own meals, played games and enjoyed making s’mores together, helping to build friendships and teamwork.

Following this, students went on to complete their Bronze DofE qualifying expedition across Moreton-in-Marsh, Shipston-on-Stour and Long Compton. Despite the hot weather, they continued to show determination and resilience, successfully navigating their routes.

At camp, they made the most of their time by cooking meals and enjoying games of football and volleyball.

Staff praised the group’s determination, teamwork and positive attitude throughout both expeditions.

“A huge well done to all students involved for their determination and positive attitude and thank you to the staff who supported the expedition. We are incredibly proud!!
