Last week’s SHINE session focused on the work of one of Britains best-loved illustrators – Quentin Blake.
He famously brought to life the characters featured in the books of Roald Dahl.
This Art SHINE workshop explored the illustrator’s style of drawing and his ability to capture such memorable personalities as Matilda and Willy Wonka in a minimal and seemingly spontaneous way.
Whilst they worked, pupils could see a video clip of Quentin Blake himself at work. Some students created life-sized figures based on school students, whilst others created illustrations for the different subject departments in the school. They came up with some charming and humourous results:
