Year 8 pupil, Maddy A has been boxing for 20 months, and is making quite a name for herself!

Before she took up boxing, Maddy spent 4 years training and competing in Tae Kwon Do, gaining her black belt after 36 months, winning 21 regional titles, 2 national titles and 2 world titles, before moving into boxing.

Maddy attended the National Championships at the end of May in Crawley, where she won the Semi Finals. This weekend she was asked to join team England against Scotland and Wales at the Barnsley Metrodome. Maddy fought over 70 bouts and won! She was praised by England for her performance on the day, against her opponent, who was 4 inches taller and 3kg heavier.

Maddy trains for 8 hours a week and runs 3-4 times a week along side boxing in the mornings and weekends.

Maddy is an incredible sportswoman. On top of Boxing and Tae Kwon Do, she played football for Redditch when she was 7 years old,  winning many trophies, and last year won the Midlands shot put championships in Oxford.

Well done Maddy!
