A group of our Year 9 pupils visited Warwick University this week, as part of our careers education programme between Science and Careers, with the aim of widening participation into STEM subjects and career pathways.
The faculty of Science and Survival held an event with six interactive sessions for pupils ranging from Engineering, Fake News, Error Correcting Code, Grabbing around and From Rails to Reactors.
Is Maths Science?
Pupils were engaged in all sessions and interacted with the professors and ambassadors from the University. Pupils learned the difference between various science disciplines and had the opportunity to try out subjects they might not have encountered before.
From a careers profession point of view, I found the whole day very informative which developed my understanding further of higher education routes and the demands in an ever- changing world.
