The session included, ‘Introduction to Engineering’ and an ‘Origami Engineering’ workshop. Oxford University provide such experiences for young learners, to nurture an academic interest in Engineering and allow them to experience real life applications of an exciting area in Engineering. Their intention is to sparked interest in studying engineering at University.
My day at Oxford University taster session was amazing! I had lots of support, which was helpful when tackling each challenge! I loved learning new things and getting an insight into Engineering through further education. I also met new friends along the way. I look forward to studying engineering later on in life.
It was an incredible experience; it has widely broadened my view on the possibilities of Engineering. Definitely a career I will look into in the future and something to help with the application of Maths.
This collaboration with Oxford University has resulted in further developments for our pupils. Oxford University have indicated they will gladly use our school as a hub for future workshops in the Warwickshire area to support local schools.
