We are pleased that you have chosen Studley High as your secondary school and are confident that over the next 5 years you will have a motivating, enjoyable and successful educational journey.

On 29th June 2010 there will be an opportunity for both students and parents to come into school, meet staff, enjoy our facilities.

Please note that the closing date for secondary school applications for 2011 entry is the 1 November 2010.

Attendance & Punctuality

Appearance

•Students should maintain a smart appearance at all times.

•Ties should be worn down to the waist.

•In order to do well at school it is essential that you attend regularly and achieve a good record of attendance. Future employers and colleges always ask for information about attendance and punctuality.

•If you are absent from school your parents must phone on the first day of absence. On your return to school please bring a note with you. You will receive a letter home if you do not bring a note.

Induction Day  will give Year Six pupils their first opportunity to taste life at Studley High School.

Year Six will need to arrive at school by 8.25am where they will be greeted by school prefects and staff to guide them into registration.

A full days timetable has been arranged so please bring the following items with you: Pen (blue or black), pencil, ruler, PE kit, lunch/breaktime money £3 maximum or sandwiches.

The School Day

Times

You must be in your form room by 8.25am. The end of the school day is 3.05pm. The school operates a weekly 3-2-1 lesson timetable.

1 Short ring - means end of a lesson.

1 Short ring - 5 mins before the end of break.

3 Short rings - Wet break.

Continuous alarm - means FIRE.

 8.25 - Registration.

 8.35 - Lesson 1

 9.25 - Lesson 2

10.15 - Lesson 3

11.05 - Break

11.25 - Lesson 4

12.15 - Lesson 5

  1.05 - Lunch

  1.55 - Registration/Assembly

  2.15 - Lesson 6

  3.05 - End of school day

Forms/tutor groups are known by their year and staff initials, e.g. 7SS

All pupils are expected to:

  Be seated and silent whilst the register is being taken.

  Be silent whilst the teacher or nominated pupil is addressing the

  class.

  Leave the room and furniture tidy.

Activities/Clubs

3 day residential outdoor activity experience, at the Pioneer Centre.
