 Literacy and Numeracy Support

Literacy and Numeracy Unit - 'The Den'

'The Den' offers;

1-1 sessions or small groups of up to 6 students are given extra support to develop basic literacy and numeracy skills, using a multi-sensory approach to learning.

This is undertaken by following the government's National Strategy for Literacy and Numeracy.

Pupils use various resources to reinforce strategies taught, which include use of I.C.T. software such as Number Shark and Word Shark.

The students work in a relaxed and safe environment where they are encouraged to work together and support each other. It is hoped that this will build self confidence which will have a positive impact during their school life and beyond.
