This week, we welcomed staff from Oxford University to an assembly at Studley High. The purpose of the assembly was to dispel some of the myths surrounding Oxford University and University life in general. The aim was also to widen participation of all backgrounds by encouraging all to consider entering higher education at Oxford and other Universities. Pupils from all year groups were invited to attend the assembly. The assembly focused on the importance of education and how education opens up routes and pathways for all.
“Taught me what going to University would be like and I learned about Oxford and how there are different Colleges that form Oxford. This assembly has given me more confidence towards my goal of going to University”
“Broke all the myths about Oxford, made me believe that I could consider applying. Gave me hope”
This was Oxford University’s first visit to our school and we look forward developing our links further to support our pupils aspirations.
