Anita Burrows and representatives from Myton Hospice came to school this week, to present to Year 10 pupils studying GCSE Health and Social Care. Pupils learned about the varied services offered at the hospice, from outpatient and in-patient care, complementary therapies and their ‘rainbow ripples’ and ‘myteen’ services.
Pupils gained insight into the variety of staffing roles at Myton Hospice and heard about ‘A day in the life of a fund raiser’ and ‘A day in the life of a community fund raiser’.
Pupils were surprised to learn that the care was free and found it ‘insightful’.
Sophie Caulwell, Molly Beer, Skyla Dartnell, Olivia Jeanes and Molly Watkins, have been actively fund raising by selling Myton Butterfly badges at parents evenings, selling cakes and collecting general donations from staff and parents.
Total raised by Studley High School community £300.49
