Key Stage 4 overview GCSE Food Technology

At the beginning of Year 10 students are given a short induction that familiarises them with the requirements of this GCSE course. Personal target grades are agreed with each student and assessment deadlines are established. Topics covered include:Product analysisDiet and HealthFactors affecting food choicesPastry makingProduct labelling and packaging
In the Summer Term of Year 10 students begin their research for their major course work design and make project.
During Year 11 students continue their course work project by trialling and modifying their design ideas in the process of producing a final product.
In March of Year 11 students begin to prepare for their final examination by tackling a Preparation Sheet that provides a design context for some or all or the questions in this examination.
