Key Stage 3 Food Technology overview.

During Key Stage 3 students are involved in making an exciting range of practical work, including: Pizza, Cookies, Pasta dishes, Stir fry, Vegetable salads, Muffins, Bread, Fruit salads,Scones.

Year 7 - During Year 7 students will: learn how to work hygienically in the Food Technology rooms and use equipment safely and correctly.learn how to weigh and measure accurately and sequence tasks appropriately in the completion of practical work.learn about healthy eating.complete an interesting range of practical tasks to apply the skills identified above.design and make a cereal bar.

Year 8 - During Year 8 students will: improve their understanding of the design process by participating in sensory testing investigatons.learn about the role of ingredients in baked products.carry out investigative and focussed practical work.design and make a healthy stir fry for a family.

Year 9 - During Year 9 sudents will: further improve their understanding of the design process by clearly annotating ideas to meet a design specification for a layered dessert.produce written planning (with quality and safety checks) that effectively meets the requirements of a given design specification for a batch of muffins.design and make a new pasta product suitable for teenages
