At Key Stage 3 pupils study a wide range of periods and events. Topics studied include the Roman Empire, the Norman Conquest, the English Civil War, the Industrial Revolution, the First World War, Europe between the wars, the Home Front during World War Two, the Holocaust and the Cold War.


Last year 93% of the 69 pupils taking GCSE History gained grade C or above. Of these students 33% of pupils gained A* or A grades and 74% of pupils gained B grades and above.

History is a popular option at Studley High School and at present we have nearly 150 students studying the subject at Key Stage 4.

We follow the OCR Modern World Syllabus which focuses on Germany between 1918 and 1945, Britain between 1906 and 1918, the USA between 1918 and 1945, International Relations between 1919 and 1939 and the Cold War.
