English and Drama are the lead subjects for our Specialist Humanities Status - we are very proud to be promoting learning through the expressive arts in collaboration with music.

The curriculum area consists of six members - all of whom have Qualified Teacher Status; pupils benefit from subject-specialist staff with a wide range of specific interests. These are reflected in the diverse and challenging curriculum on offer, which includes the study of a broad base of genre including Media, Drama, Poetry and Prose. In addition, the department actively supports pupils in developing effective writing skills for a variety of purposes and has developed common literacy strategies across the school curriculum.
