Art at GCSE is a very popular choice of subject at Studley. We follow the OCR Fine Art syllabus. This allows students to explore a range of techniques, materials and ideas. Projects are open ended and allow for individual interpretation using a range of media.
Students studying GCSE Art have three lessons a week and all groups are mixed ability.
GCSE Art is made up of 60% coursework and 40% examination.
At GCSE there is greater opportunity to develop independent ideas for projects in a more personal way. Students will receive guidance and support throughout the course.
60% of the total GCSE mark is made up from coursework and the remaining 40% comes from the examination. Students are given ten hours of supervised time to complete their final examination piece.
